E O S

EMPLOYEE ON-BOARDING SPECIALTIES, INC.

1.      What exactly does On-Boarding mean?

We help lots of companies put people to work by having them on board with all their pre-employment qualifications.  These can include, drug testing, breath alcohol testing, hair testing, fit for duty testing.  We also do, Audio, Respirator Fit, and Pulmonary testing.

2.      What other things can you help me with?

DOT Physicals, and General Health Physicals are all walk-in basis.   If you need an eye test, we have the Snellen eye test and the Ishihara’s color blindness test. If you might be concerned that you could be a diabetic, we can do a test for that, also.

3.      Wow, that’s a lot!  But, what if I need some Special Training?

Employee On-Boarding offers many classes each month for everyone.  Check out our website:  www.employeeonboarding.net  for the days and times of all the classes we offer.  We have a special room just for our training.  We offer, Basic Life Support (BLS), CPR AED, First Aid and Blood Bourne Pathogens.
For the companies, we have a special program for Supervisor and Employee Training.

4.      What makes your facility so special?

The staff at Employee On-Boarding consists of a Registered Nurse and a Doctor with many trainings in their background. Our other staff members are annually updating their education and qualifications of the tasks before them.
Let’s not forget that when you come to our facility, we have no sick people in our waiting room and the wait time is very minimal.

Say What?

HEARING LOSS

Do you know people who shout when they are talking?  Does your spouse turn the t.v. up Loud, so they can hear better, but, it is really loud to you?  They could be experiencing hearing loss.

How is “your hearing”?  There are some signs to look for if you think you might have a hearing problem, or someone you know.

Do you find yourself having to ask the person you are talking to, to please repeat themselves?  The feeling of being frustrated at yourself will be normal, but, the person you are asking to repeat themselves might also become annoyed.

Have you found yourself having to strain to hear the person who is talking to you, when in a busy or crowded place?  Almost all background noise makes it harder to hear even the people who are sitting at the same table as you. So, you could find yourself missing bits and pieces of the conversation.

If the word “what?” is being used a lot during the day, you aren’t getting the sound signals you need to process sound correctly.  Just because you didn’t hear a mumbling co-worker from 10 feet away doesn’t mean you have hearing loss.

No need to fear.  Call a hearing professional and set up an appointment, it is not painful to take a hearing test.  There are lots of choices in today’s world for different hearing aids.  This might make a difference in how you view the world or how someone else might view you.

Winter Weather

BUNDLE UP, WINTER IS HERE.  HOW DO I PROTECT MYSELF?

1.     Always use layers of clothing.  If you get too hot you can take a layer off.
But, layers are the better way to dress in the very cold conditions that a lot of states have during this time of the winter.

   2.     Work slowly when doing work outside in the bitter cold.  Even tho, it might not feel like you are working your heart while shoveling snow, you are.

3.     Make sure and wear bright clothing when working outside.  If you are outside doing snow recreation fun, also wear bright clothing.  Bring along a buddy to be with you.  Hiking, snowboarding, skiing, be sure and have a person with you, in case of an accident.

 4.   Traveling?  There are a few things that should always be with you when traveling in the cold weather:  extra blankets, a flashlight with extra batteries, a first aid kit, flares, food, water, and a bag of cat litter or sand for the times you might need extra traction for the vehicle wheels.

Make a mental checklist before braving the weather, making sure you have all the important items you might need for that day.  Even a little extra is better, than not enough.  If you can take a friend with you, that is even better.

Happy Holidays

HAPPY HOLIDAYS
ARE COMING

The holidays are almost here.  There are only 7 Fridays left before Christmas.

But, let’s remember that Thanksgiving is first. While we want
to celebrate, we should always keep our thoughts on our health.  This means DO Not Over Eat or Drink too much.

You want to be the best you can be for your family and friends.

You especially Do Not want to drink and drive.
It only takes one strong drink and you could end up
having an unwilling drive to a permanent home.

Take care of your body and you will have many days of health and happiness to share in your world.

From all of us – to all of you, Have the Best Holidays Ever.
